Six picture clues, six Toy Buttons and a sleepy Toy Machine. No reading needed!
The story
WHIRRRR... ZZZZZ! It's Christmas Eve at Santa's Workshop, and the Great Toy Machine is fast asleep. The six bright Toy Buttons that wake it up have rolled away and hidden around the workshop. Head Elf Pip and Mallow Bear need your little elves to follow the picture clues, collect all six Toy Buttons and wake the machine before Santa's sleigh takes off.
Made for ages 4-6 with no reading needed by the child. Every clue uses big pictures, colors, shapes and dot badges. A grown-up reads the one short line at the top of each page while little hands point, count, trace and circle.
Six picture clues, six Toy Buttons
- The Toy Shadow Shelf: match the toys to their shadows and find the odd one out
- Mrs. Claus's Toy Tray: count the toys and circle the group of three
- The Festive Garland: finish the ornament pattern
- Twin Toy Shelves: spot the one cubby that changed
- Nesting Gift Crates: put the crates in order from smallest to biggest
- Mallow's Snowy Sled Trail: trace a wide, crayon-friendly maze
Then the six buttons are colored in on the Toy Machine page, the Magic Star Picture appears, and every player gets an Official Little Elf Helper certificate.
Two ways to play: a 2-minute Table Mode with no scissors, or a 10-minute Hide & Seek Mode where each clue shows a picture of where to look next. The 4-page Grown-Up Guide has the answers, three gentle hints per puzzle and optional station labels.
Every puzzle is checked by our own puzzle software so each clue has one clear answer. The illustrations were made with AI image tools from our own prompts and art direction, then edited and laid out by us.

Questions about this kit
Does my child need to read?
No. Every clue is a picture puzzle. A grown-up reads the one short line at the top of each page.
How long does it take?
About 15-25 minutes of play. Setup takes 2 minutes in Table Mode or about 10 minutes in Hide & Seek Mode.
Do I need scissors?
No. The cut-out Toy Button badges are optional; kids can simply color the buttons on the Toy Machine page.
Does it work in black & white?
Yes. Every colored button also has a shape (heart, star, snowflake, clover), so the ink-saving version plays the same way.
I also have older kids. Can they play?
This edition is made for ages 4-6. For ages 7-10 there is Santa's Workshop, the escape room in the same story world, so siblings can play side by side.
Can I print it again?
Yes, as often as you need for your own family or your own class. Please don't share, sell or upload the files.
